The second beam (2) has a chamfered end which butts against the side of the first beam (1). A flat plate (3) has many holes to accommodate fastening screws holding it on the first beam and has a top end bent over at 90 degrees (5) with a hole (6) to accommodate a main fastening screw (8). The screw bears on a specially- shaped washer (15). An elongated semicircular-section plate (4) is accommodated in a cutout (9) in the chamfered end of the second beam and has many holes (11) to accommodate fastening screws (10). A flange (7) with a threaded bore (12) accommodates the main fastening screw.
