The flight of steps (1) has additional steps (4) fitted at half height of the normal steps and with a width of less than a third of the overall step width. The additional steps are manufactured from two components, one being an open bottom cubic shaped hollow step body, and the other being a support plate fastened to the steps and corresponding to the inside dimensions of the step body. The step body is slipped over the support plate and prevents a sideways slipping of the additional step.
