The tear-off layer may be made of silicone or silicone-impregnated material. It covers and protects the adhesive coating on the rear surface of the label. The front of the label is printed with advertising or decorative material. There is a dotted or perforated tear-off line at the top of the label, to enable the backing to be peeled off.
