The horseshoe (1) is u-shaped with slightly curved arms (7), an inclined front segment (2, 4), and a bridge (8) between the arms (7) to be used for an adjustment of the distance between them. Various differently shaped projections (9, 17) and recesses (16) form a structured lower surface (11) of the device (1), which is also provided with holes (25) for the addition of calks (26) if required. Two angular mounting elements (28), positioned laterally beside the front area (2, 4) are made of a plastic coated metal facilitating a limited adjustment after the shoe (1) has been worn for some time.
