The loop antenna has a capacitive extremely short loop (1) provided by a metal pipe or a flat material, a Cu coil (2), a split coaxial cable counter-weight (3) for capacitive coupling to earth and a mantle current blocking device (4), all of which are connected in series. A pair of electrical loops can be used to provide an extremely short electrical dipole. In the case of mobile communications the capacitive coupling can be provided via the vehicle earth.
