Ejector system for thermoforming tool has a locking rack which engages with rotating discs on each ejector and allows simultaneous rotation of a row of discs for disengagement or locking of tool base components
Rows of ejectors(12), each with a tool base component(18), connect with an ejector rod(13) and plate(22) via a socket connector(14,16). Each connector is surrounded by a rotating part(32) which, via a blocking part(30), connects the tool base component and ejector plate and releases them. A central locking mechanism engages with the rotating parts of one or more rows of ejectors and when the mechanism moves the rotating parts are simultaneously rotated. Each rotating part(32) comprises a toothed disc and a movable rack allocated to each row of ejectors(12) engages with the teeth of an appropriate rotating disc for simultaneous rotation of a complete row of these parts. A common operating member is connected to all racks for their simultaneous operation. Racks are guided in the tool baseplate(20). Ejector rods(13) move between two positions and are guided in the tool baseplate. The socket connector(14,16) sits in a recess(27) of the tool baseplate when an ejector rod is in the starting position. A releasing mechanism(36) disengages racks(34) from the toothed discs. The tool base component may alternatively be a rod which is guided in the tool base plate.
