A moulded body, preferably a light construction block, consists of geopolymer-bonded expanded glass granules. Also claimed is production of the moulded body, by hardening from a mixture of 35-70 wt.% expanded glass granules and 30-65 wt.% binder-mix; comprising 30-70 wt.% alkali metal water-glass solution, of 30-65 wt.% alkalinity, and 30-70 wt.% of a reactive oxide mixture with amorphous silicon dioxide and aluminium oxide. Preferably, the oxide mixture contains metakaolin, natural aluminosilicate, activated clay, flyash, blast furnace dust, glass powder and/or finely ground basalt.
