PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a program converter enabling a user to know how to divide a constant even when the constant is discontinuously divided by various dividing methods and to provide a debugging device capable of restoring a divided partial constant to the original constant and changing the partial constant without allowing the user to be conscious of the division. ;SOLUTION: In the case of dividing a constant in the program converter, constant dividing information indicating how to divide the constant is generated (106) and outputted (108). The debugging device restores a partial constant to the original constant by using any one of the constant dividing information, an execution code and execution history information and outputs the restored constant (110). In the case of changing an instruction for handling the constant, a state for dividing the constant is detected similarly to the case of restoration and automatically changes an instruction for handling remaining partial constants to reduce user's burden (111).;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
