A method for the separation of c5 - c8 inserts in three products, enriched in linear, simple - branched and, in many cases, - branched paraffins

Separation of C5 - C8 fraction or an intermediate fraction in three effluents rich in linear, mono-branched and multi branched paraffins is performed by using two separation units placed in series to obtain three effluents in linear paraffins, one effluent rich in mono-branched paraffins, an effluent rich in di-branched or tri-branched paraffins and optionally naphtenes and/or aromatic compounds. At least the two separation units operate by adsorption or by permeation containing one or several membranes. The feed is sent to the first separation unit where the linear paraffins are separated from the branched ones which leads to a denormalized feed which is sent to a second separation unit where the mono-branch paraffins and multi-branch paraffins and optionally the naphtenes and/or aromatic compounds are separated. The feed is sent to the first separation unit where multi-branch paraffins and optionally the naphtenes and/or aromatic compounds are separated, the linear and the mono-branched paraffins are sent to a second separation unit where they are separated into 2 effluents one rich in mono-branched paraffins and the other one rich in linear paraffins.
