The system consists of air ducts (11) with intakes below the livestock pens and outlets above them, and each duct has an air flow speed regulator (15) which is set at a set value so that the space between the pens and the ceiling (4) of the building is ventilated. The building has at least one row (1) of pens (2,3) for the animals and a ventilation system comprising a series of ducts (11) with their intake ends (13) situated beneath the pens and an extractor fan (11a) to create an upward air flow through the ducts. The upper outlet end (14) of each duct is situated above the pens and contains an air flow speed regulator (15) which is set so that the space between the pens and the ceiling is ventilated. Each regulator comprises a shutter with a lever arm (17) connected by a rod (19) to a control unit (20) linked to sensors (24,25) which measure, for example, air temperature and humidity.
