摘要

A copper alloy, which contains titanium and has a titanium oxide-containing surface layer, is new. A copper alloy, exhibiting optical catalytic activity, contains 0.1-7.3 wt. % titanium and has a titanium oxide-containing surface layer. An Independent claim is also included for a process for producing the above copper alloy by heat treatment at 200-800 deg C to form a surface oxide layer. Preferred Features: The copper alloy may contain 0.001-10% Zn and/or 0.001-3% Si, in which case the surface layer also contains zinc and/or silicon oxide, and may also contain 0.001-1% Ag. The alloy is anodized prior to heat treatment.
