A device for wiredraw or stretch the ferrous and non-ferrous metals (wires, bars, tubes) with a wear almost - zero filieres and a total of the adherence of the state of the surface of all the products produced
Apparatus for drawing metals in the form of a wire, a rod, a tube or a non-cylindrical shape comprises a threaded tube (1) screwed into a threaded sleeve (2), which, in turn, is inserted into a large rectangular block (3) welded on casting plates. An aperture (5) supplies high pressure, high viscosity lubricant to the object (18) being drawn. The assembly can be adapted for liquid lubricants. The threaded tube (1) has significant thickness, Rockwell hardness (HRC) 58, and Vickers hardness (HV) 3500. The cone section of the threaded tube (1) conforms perfectly to the angle of the die (11). The two contact surfaces (8) of the threaded tube (1) have a mirror-finish with surface roughness (Ra) of 5/100 microns. The working dies comprise micro-grains of tungsten carbide compacted by hot isostatic pressing. The dies can comprise industrial ceramics selected from nitrides, carbides or borides having very high hardness of above 1200 HV, or industrial diamonds having very high density and hardness of above 3000 HV. The threaded tube (1) and non-threaded (floating) tubes used in subsequent passes through the die, and set into position by the operator, are cylindrical or conical at an angle of 0-12 degrees. The metal drawing lubricants are greases or oils of viscosity of 20-3500 centistokes, with or without the following additives: graphite, molybdenum disulfide, metallic or metallic alloy powders, polymers in powder or liquid/wax form, or calcium or sodium stearate, palmitate or oleate powders optionally doped with extreme pressure elements.
