The invention relates to the use of peptides of at least 8 amino acids derived from the β subunit of the chorionic hormone human gonadotropin, hereinafter β-hCG, for the preparation of a pharmaceutical composition intended for generating an immune response mediated by cytotoxic T cells. The invention also relates to the use of such peptides, in particular mixed or coupled to a carrier protein for the preparation of a vaccine composition intended for the prevention or treatment of cancers expressing the hCG marker. A subject of the invention is also such peptides, in particular as an anti-tumor medicament.
