The shaping of the heat exchanger folded tube comprises providing a plane metallic band (12) of a determined width and continuously unrolling it. Reliefs (42) are formed by rolling between a pair of rollers (70a,70b) and the metallic band is then bent continuously by profiling rollers to give the band a given profile. The last operation comprises bending marginal regions of the band in order that they constitute a partition to make a tube with two parallel channels. An Independent claims are included for an installation for shaping tubes and a tube exchanger obtained using the method.
