The submersible vehicle includes a resistant hull (5) accommodating the pilot (6) who enters through an opening (2), propulsion devices (8), and an assembly of navigation, control and life support apparatus in the confined space. The vehicle also includes containers carrying batteries (1) and an articulating arrangement (4) permitting rotation of the hull in a vertical plane w.r.t the containers. The articulated position is determined w.r.t the center of the bottom and the center of gravity of the hull so that the sum of moments of floatability and the weight of them relative to the articulation arrangement are positive. The articulation arrangement is free when the vehicle is submerged and when in equilibrium an access door (2) faces the bottom.
