The wire fastener is twisted to form a diamond-shaped head (4) connected to two horizontal arms (5, 6) and a helical screw (7, 8). This can be screwed into a metal mesh (2). An independent claim is included for a sealing collar for an oven door comprising a tubular sleeve of metal mesh which is fastened together using fasteners as described above and then covered by braiding.
