The instrument, consisting of a feeler (1) with an ultrasonic transducer (2), at least one position detector (4), has an electrodynamic actuator (3) to switch it on, connected to a power source. The feeler has a supple, sealed membrane (5) and a shield (6) for the transducer, and the instrument is controlled by a computer, micro-computer or central control unit. It can also have an echograph associated with the feeler and linked to a display screen.
