The machine has a frame (1) on which a hopper (2) is mounted, so that it is organized to receive the food which is to be metered out. A drum (15) is mounted on the frame to pivot about an axis that is perpendicular to a feed duct so as to bring a chamber of the drum into a suction position in alignment with a feed duct. A central hub of the drum is equipped with a suction piston and with a delivery piston.
