Automatic device for assisting in resource management in response to requests requiring the movement of said resources in order to fulfill them. Accordingly the resources are allocated to the requests primarily as a function of the shortest distance to travel between a start location specified in resource data and a target geographical location specified in the request data. The invention also relates to a corresponding method.
