The inert wheelchair for use through airport scanners has two side shells (1) made of glass fibre and connected between them by six reinforcing shafts extending between horizontal inserts formed integrally in the shells. The shafts can be used for reinforcement and transport of the chair. There is a C-shaped profile embedded in the side shells to receive a footrest support.
