Secure electronic entity, e.g. a chip card, comprises a unit (18) for measurement of the time elapsed between two operations. A memory unit (19) contains maximum and minimum permittable durations for the time elapsed between two operations. Thus it can be determined if the elapsed time falls within the authorized duration.
