The installation for the recovery of a polluting fluid (40) contained in the tanks (2) of a sunken ship (1) comprises an injection pipe (P) connected to a compartment (4) of the sunken shop which injects pressurized water to the tank bottom. One end of the pipe is ballasted (8) and the other end (9) housed in the compartment. A suction pipe (B) connected to the compartment evacuates the polluting fluid. A pipe is connected to a pump installed on the salvage vessel and to the suction pipe. The injection pipe is connected to a valve (10) housed in the compartment and accessible from outside the sunken ship.
