Method of processing of a signal incident within a Rake receiver having several fingers, used in wireless transmission system with code division multiple access (CDMA), such as mobile telephones
The method includes reception of an incident signal formed by symbols emanating from a multi-path transmission channel where each path carries a retarded version of the signal, detection of these paths and their certain allocation by the fingers, and a combination within an information memory unit delivered at the output of each finger affecting a path. A memory unit (MM) is capable of storing a number of higher symbols with maximum retard between the paths and is addressable by address pointers (PTFi) respectively associated with the fingers, by the fact that one defines a first finger and a latter finger, by the fact that the combination step includes an established phase rate in which the address pointers points to mutually spaced addresses taking into account eventual spaces in the number of symbols between the paths, and in which one stores a current symbol received on the first finger in this memory with a writing address designated by the corresponding address pointer then one increments this address pointer, and before the reception of the symbol in the direction this first finger, and one successively extracts the contents of the memory stored with the addresses to be read respectively designated by all the other address pointers, one respectively sums these contents with the symbols presents on the other fingers, then one respectively stores these sums with the exception of those corresponding to the latter finger, with the same reading addresses before incrementing all the other pointers, this latter sum corresponding to the latter finger being delivered at the output of the receiver.
