The primary and a secondary weld surfaces consists of two locking taper surfaces opposing the weld surfaces respectively. The taper locking surfaces co-operating with each other for abutting engagement of weld surfaces at a predetermined pressure forming laser beam joint (16) area to permanently join the weld surfaces. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) air induction component assembly; and (2) method of joining induction components.
