The roll (1) of paper on which the receipt is printed is divided into alternate zones (2,3). One zone is left blank to carry details of the transaction, while the other zone is preprinted with an entry to a lottery or other game. The entry can be a number which is submitted for a draw or an instant lottery with a layer (15) covering the prize value, which is revealed by scratching off the layer.
