The system comprises a multi-directional retaining cover which is fastened in the intersection of the metal frame (8) of existing false ceilings. U-sectioned struts (9) are fitted in the retaining cover. The cover has an upper face (13) comprising a flange (4) able to have different heights according to the thickness of the rebates (14) of the false ceiling panels (12). The flange has two fasteners (5) for fastening the webs (15) of the false ceiling profile.
