New perfluoroalkanesulfonamide salts useful as complexing agents for polyvalent cations, especially for (waste) water treatment to remove heavy metals
Perfluoroalkanesulfonamide salts (I) are new. Perfluoroalkanesulfonamide salts of formula (I) are new: RfSO2NH- Y+ (I); Rf = 7-9C perfluoroalkyl; Y = a cation. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a process (P1) for preparing compounds (I); (2) a process (P2) for recovering polyvalent cations from an aqueous solution by adding a compound (I), recovering a complex of formula (II), dissociating the complex by treatment with an acid, separating the sulfonamide RfSO2NH2 and recovering the salt of the polyvalent cation and the anion of the acid; (3) complexes of formula (II). (RfSO2NH-)nM (II); M = a n-valent cation; n = 2 or more.
