The suction pump (1) for sucking venom inoculated by a bite or sting comprises a variable volume suction chamber (240) having an opening (30) able to be applied on the skin surface. A spring (50) is able to modify the chamber volume during its use. The pump comprises releasable retaining means (230,140) able to hold, once released, the spring in the deformed state. The spring releases the chamber increase in volume and therefore the suction when the retaining means are released.
