The machine (10) has a conveyor (18) with multiple openings to receive a mixture of product e.g. potato, and waste e.g. pebbles. A waste separator (32) receives the waste product from the conveyor, and separates the waste from the product. A deviation unit (25) is disposed on the conveyor to direct the waste products towards or away from the waste separator, where the conveyor is supported by wheels (20a-20e).
