The process involves adjusting time interval between two successive control signals to absorb pressure in a fuel injection system if the width of range of time variation of an operational parameter of an internal combustion engine is holded. The interval is reduced and the parameter has changed or not is determined. A parameter value is recorded with the interval if the parameter and its associated pressure wave have changed. An independent claim is also included for a pressure wave adaptively correcting device.
