The catheter has a cylindrical central part (16) connecting proximal and distal ends and receiving a deformable unit e.g. a stent. The proximal end has a part (12a) of external diameter greater than that of the central part. The part (12a) has an inclined surface (12c) in the direction of axis of the catheter to be inserted into a catheter-guide during the withdrawal of the catheter supporting a balloon. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing the catheter.
