Device for automatically creating a realistic virtual model of a real scene. The invention relates to a device for quickly creating a virtual mock-up of a real scene. It consists of a connected video camera (1) (12) to a computer (2) controlling the optical characteristics (aperture and focal length) of the camera and analyzing the video sequence produced. The variation of the focal length (7) & (8) & (9) giving an image of a point (3) more or less blurred (4) & (11). It is thus possible to determine its position in space. The point cloud obtained, once meshed and then textured by the original images, makes it possible to obtain a realistic model of the scene seen by the camera, automatically and quickly. The device according to the invention is more particularly intended for modeling of human faces or bodies.
