The sensor has a sensitive unit (4) with a ferromagnetic layer (FM1) and an anti-ferromagnetic layer (AF1) superimposed on each other. A component of sensitive unit is oriented in the direction of magnetic field to be measured for obtaining a magnetic moment. The magnetic moment varies reversibly according to the intensity of the magnetic field to be measured, and is linearly adjustable in a range of field. An independent claim is also included for a use of a magnetoresistive sensor.
