The process involves comparing detected braking magnitude with a predetermined threshold value. An appropriate measure modifying deceleration on wheel brake and constantly maintaining or modifying a vehicle deceleration only in negligible manner, is taken. The measure is taken according to an operating state of a component of the vehicle during a braking operation. An independent claim is also included for a device for monitoring and controlling brake installation of a vehicle.
