The method involves decoding compressed digital signal, and applying a geometric transformation to the decoded signal. The transformed signal is coded to obtain a transcoded signal. Geometrical order, in which the transcoded signal is displayed on a support after decompression, is modified. The modified order includes a desired final geometric representation and another representation applied during transcoding. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) an apparatus for processing data (b) an information storing unit readable by a computer to execute a method of processing digital video signal (c) a computer program having instructions to perform a method of processing a digital video signal.
