The device has an upper strut (5) of length less than that of treads of ladder and fixed at lower tread of the ladder. Two telescopic arms (7) are articulated to the strut in same plane corresponding to that of stiles of the ladder and in space available between lower tread and the stiles. Each arm is provided with a clamp collar at corresponding part of stile of the ladder. An independent claim is also included for a ladder with level stabilizing and compensating device.
