The tape has a tape measure (1) rolled in a box (2) and unrolled across an opening of the box. An accessory is mounted in variable position on the unrolled part of the tape measure. A jaw fixes the accessory on the tape measure. The box has a retractor which inhibits the jaw and liberates the tape measure with respect to the accessory when the accessory is adjacent to the box.
