Software application executing method for personal computer, involves detecting coupling of chip card with personal computer using software bootstrap program, and loading and executing client program in computer

The method involves storing a client program allowing execution of software application, in a non-volatile memory (31). A software bootstrap program is loaded in a central memory of a personal computer and coupling of a chip card (3) with the computer is detected using the bootstrap program. All or part of client program is loaded in the computer through communication interfaces (12, 32) and the client program is executed. An independent claim is also included for a computer architecture implementing software application executing method.
