The device has a wave generator (2) that transmits volume waves (5) on an interior face of a glass to propagate perpendicular to a glass plane. A transformation unit transforms the volume waves into surface waves. The surface waves are attenuated by the presence of water droplets on their passage. Another transformation unit retransforms the attenuated surface waves into attenuated volume waves onto a wave receiver. An independent claim is also included for a vehicle including glass and a device for detecting moisture.
