A method of identifying the modification of a biological parameter, particularly a difference in metabolism, in ageing cells comprises comparing the proteomic, genomic or transcriptomic (i.e. mRNA profile) analysis of young living cells with that of aged living cells, at least one of these two classes of cells being incorporated into a three-dimensional tissue model which comprises at least fibroblasts or keratinocytes. The tissue model may particularly be a connective matrix model, an epithelium model, an epidermis model, a skin model or a mucous membrane model. The method may be used to screen for active substances capable of reversing the modification of the biological parameter.
