Block polymer and microgel additives for preventing gas hydrate formation

摘要

The process prevents sedimentation of gas hydrates in petroleum production installations. At least one additive is added to the petroleum effluent to modify the rheological behaviour of the petroleum effluent by imparting thereto a flow threshold fluid behaviour. The process uses polymer type organosoluble additives that can be: UL ST="-" LIdi- or triblocks of which the blocks are non-compatible and of which one of the blocks is non-compatible with the solvent; e.g diblock and triblock polymers of styrene, butadiene, ethylene-propylene, ethylene-butylene, isoprene LImicrogels e.g. polystyrene, alkyl(poly)methacrylates. /UL
