PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-output and high-accuracy controlled permanent magnet rotary machine for reducing cogging torque.;SOLUTION: The permanent magnet rotary machine comprises a rotor including a plurality of permanent magnet segments attached to a rotor yoke and its side face and having P magnetic poles (P is an integer of 4 or more), and a stator having an iron core with a plurality of slots concentrically disposed outside the rotor through an air gap and a winding wound to the iron core. In a cross section of the permanent magnet rotary machine, each permanent magnet segment has an angle α of (180/P-90)°-0° between the easily magnetized direction and a reference line for connecting the center of the rotor and the center of the permanent magnet segment in a positive angle position θ from the reference line in a counterclockwise direction as a positive direction relative to the center of the rotor as the rotational center, and the easily magnetized direction symmetrical to the reference line.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
