PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface processing method for steel, the appearance of which can be changed by light, sunlight, light of an electric lamp, or the like.;SOLUTION: A production method for the steel comprises a process in which grinding processing of a surface of the steel 10 is executed, a process in which the surface subjected to grinding processing is coated and a process in which finish processing of coated steel is executed. The grinding processing process is provided with a first groove forming process in which a first groove 5a is formed on the steel surface by a grinder and a second groove forming process in which a second groove 5b is formed by overlapping the first groove. While changing a grinding direction to forward and reverse in the first groove forming process and the second groove forming process, contact pressure and contact area of the grinder 20 to a base material surface are changed to change width and depth of the formed groove.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
