PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct the inclination of a preparation by a signal processing system.;SOLUTION: Coefficients a, b, c used in a plane equation of the preparation are calculated on the basis of values Zo to Z2 of three points Po to P2 before acquiring sonic speed information for diagnosing biomedical tissue. A value Zp (inclination) in the z-axis direction at an arbitrary point on a plane of the mount on which the biomedical tissue is placed, can be calculated on the basis of the coefficients a, b, c. By using the calculated value as a correction value in calculating a thickness of the biomedical tissue, the thickness of the biomedical tissue at a measurement point can be accurately calculated in a state of considering the inclination of the preparation to the ultrasonic wave outgoing direction. Thus the inclination can be corrected by processing a signal. The sonic speed at the measurement point can be accurately calculated by calculating the thickness of the biomedical tissue with high accuracy. A sonic speed image of the biomedical tissue can be obtained by drawing the sonic speed values as an equi-sonic speed line at each measurement point. Thus the accuracy of the sonic speed image can be remarkably improved, and the biomedical tissue can be precisely diagnosed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
