PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for testing a tire using algorithm for comparing an average gradient of fluctuation of one parameter as a function of another parameter. PSOLUTION: This tire testing system has a means for imparting a longitudinal force on the tire, and a means for conducting calculation for determining a target slip at every operation of the means hereinbefore, as follows; that is, the first fluctuation curve is modeled to determine an index αSB1/SBof the average gradient of the first fluctuation curve, the second fluctuation is modeled to determine an index αSB2/SBof the average gradient of the second fluctuation curve, the operations herein are repeated for acquiring newly a pair of values as long as a mutual difference between α1 and α2 is lower than a prescribed gradient threshold value, in every time thereof, and the target slip is determined using at least the last pair of values as soon as the difference between α1 and α2 exceeds the prescribed gradient threshold value.
