PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas bearing capable of satisfactorily supporting a rotating shaft while minimizing a bearing diameter, a bearing device using the gas bearing, a compressor, and a method of controlling the behavior of the gas bearing.;SOLUTION: The compressor is formed to support the rotating shaft 3 on a casing through the gas bearing 11 in the state of allowing the rotation about the axis thereof. The gas bearing 11 comprises a bearing body 12 into which the rotating shaft 3 is inserted.
