INTEROCCLUSAL METHOD AS WELL AS INTERMAXILLARY RELATION RECORDING PLATE AND ITS COMPONENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record an accurate and reproducible mandibular position using a recording plate with which a patient can feel well the physiological interocclusal sense.;SOLUTION: Marking blades 5 are attached to the upper jaw and recording blocks 6 are attached to the lower jaw of left and right molar sections of the upper and lower jaw base plates 4 to occlude mutually. The marking blade 5 is tabular and a pointed head edge is equipped with notches 7 to be jagged. The recording block 6 is a rectangular prism. The recording block has a plane upper surface (a recording surface) and is attached to make the surface coincide with a virtual interocclusion plane. Both left and right attachment positions of the marking blades and the recording blocks are around the second premolar sections and are parallel to alveolar ridges of the molar sections. When the recording plate 3 is made, it is actually inserted in the oral cavity of the patient to be adjusted. The interocclusion is made lightly to observe whether or not the left and right marking blades occlude and contact with the corresponding recording blocks and the adjustment is performed by cutting the recording blocks or instant piling up of polymer resin to make left and right contacts to be even.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
