PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation spindle performance discriminating device which provides high reliability with a simple structure, a rotation spindle performance discriminating method and a clock.;SOLUTION: A movement having a rotation spindle is disposed on a rotating table 20. The rotating table 20 is rotated in a state where it is tilted at a predetermined angle. The movement rotates together with the rotating table 20, while rotation spindle rotates with respect to the movement. When the rotation torque of the rotation spindle is high, the rotation spindle turns with respect to a stopping position before rotation. When the a turning position sensor 50 detects the turning rotation spindle, a discriminating means discriminates that the rotation spindle of the movement has poor rotating performance. Since there is no need for directly measuring the rotation torque, the performance of the rotation spindle can be discriminated with a simple structure. Since the turning position of the rotation spindle is detected to discriminate the rotating performance, accurate discrimination can be realized even in the presence of minor torque, so that reliability can be improved.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
