COLOR TEMPERATURE CONVERSION METHOD AND APPARATUS USING CORRECTING FUNCTION BASED UPON BRIGHTNESS OF IMAGE PIXEL

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color temperature converting method and apparatus that make it possible to reproduce pixels of an image having various brightness at various color temperatures that a user likes. PSOLUTION: The color temperature conversion method includes (a) a stage of calculating a variable for determining a conversion object range as a secondary curve, (b) a stage of judging whether an inputted pixel is an object to be converted, (c) a stage of comparing a color temperature that the user sets with a basic color temperature when the pixel is an object to be converted, (d) (i) a 1st stage of calculating color conversion target color coordinates based upon the color temperature that the user sets when the color temperature that the user sets is different from the basic color temperature and (ii) a 2nd stage of obtaining conversion target color coordinates based upon the basic color temperature when the color temperature that the user sets is equal to the basic color temperature, and (e) a color coordinate conversion stage of converting color coordinates of a pixel by moving the origin on the color coordinates to the conversion target color coordinates.
