PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multicharger for a portable telephone by which charging starts more quickly by only a simple mechanism device, and many kinds of portable telephones are charged by supplying charging terminals of various types. PSOLUTION: The multicharger has a tray on which a battery for the portable telephone is placed, a plurality of charging terminal blocks which are connected to the electrode terminal of the battery for the portable telephone and are arranged in line, a driver which drives the charging terminal blocks, and a power supply applying voltages to charging terminals of the charging terminal blocks. The driver moves the charging terminal blocks in a horizontal direction to the battery for the portable telephone, and while the charging terminal blocks move, the multicharger is disposed so that it may easily slide as coming into contact with a face where the electrode terminal of the battery for the portable telephone is arranged. The multicharger is constituted so that, when the charging terminal blocks come into contact with the electrode terminal, it may detect the contact, stop the driving of the driver and start the charging.
